On Saturday 5th July, Lister held its first annual Summer Fair. The day proved to be a fantastic success with over 700 attendees from the local community coming through the school. The fair was packed with free fun filled activities for both adults and kids alike to enjoy including sumo wrestling, pedal karts and bouncy castles to name a few!

With tongue tingling tasters provided by Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food as well as an on-site barbeque, attendees were shown a taste of Lister’s talent through music and dance performances scheduled throughout the day.

The support for the event was overwhelming with stalls being run by pupils, Lister staff and the local community from selfie booths to selling cosmetics, loom bands, stationery, cakes, henna and a book sale.

The highlights of the day included ‘sponging Mr Wilson’ as well as our fantastic raffle prizes of an iPad Mini (donated by Peabody) and Bicycles (bought for the event through donations from the local community).

A huge thanks to NAASA Basketball, BMX riding and Newham Swords for their support in running workshops and demonstrations and to Peabody for their contribution of an iPad. Thank you also to the local community and to Lister staff for the smooth running of the event.

As Lister continues to widen its outreach with the local community, we are already looking forward to next year’s fair which we hope will be an even bigger and better event.

See you all there!
