At Lister our students display a keen awareness of the needs in the world, and work hard to raise money for good causes.

Led by our Student Leaders, we participated in Children In Need in November and raised over £1535 through a Non-Uniform Day. On the final day of term, December 21st, we ran another event and were overwhelmed with donations for local charity Community Links. Students bought food, toys and toiletries and also donated cash, raising a total of £1278.19 and bringing so many donations that an entire van was needed to take them to the Centre.

Our school charity is United World Schools, and each House has a week to raise finds for this. It is a competition between Houses to see who can raise most; last year we raised well over £5000. Galileo House was the first to take part this year, running a range of creative events including carol singing and a staff Christmas pantomime. The money is still coming in and the total will be shared shortly.

We are very proud of the generosity shown by our students and look further to more fundraising in the remaining House charity weeks.
