Lister Arts Festival

Our first ever Lister Arts Festival(w/b 25th March) was a huge success.

Every day creativity and the arts were being celebrated around the school in different ways. Here are just a few examples..

  • Busking in the mornings started the day in a musical way.
  • Drama groups from all year groups presented work from a number of projects including Gender Equality Workshops, National Theatre ‘Connections’ project and the Barbican Box project before heading to venues across London for final performances.
  • There was an ‘Art Attack’ Art lessons, GCSE and Specialist groups enjoyed trips to galleries, and Plaistow Park has a new mural thanks to Lister Arts students.
  • The Dance Episodes lunchtime event drew an appreciative crowd and daily pop up dance performances showcased a range of dancing styles.
  • A ‘Drop everything and draw’ session saw all students using their drawing skills to demonstrate their subject knowledge.
  • All students made signs about what creativity means to them and were photographed holding these for the Community Concert and Exhibition.
  • The Library ran a creative writing competition linked to World Book Day and hosting creative writing workshops.
