U’16 girls football team’s fantastic attendance at football training has paid off. They visited West Ham Foundation for a tournament. Warm up led by PE Champion Hanaa. After a wobbly start by Rosa injuring herself in the warm up, it left the team a player short. First game was against St Angelas where persistent chasing by Raissa and Jameelah held the score at 0-0. Second game saw Miriam and Sabia’s defensive partnership rule from the back to allow us to beat Lammas 1-0. In the third game Louise gained her hat-trick against Langdon with some smashing ‘top bins,’ 3-0. Lastly the toughest game of all, Melina was asked to annoy Frances Barnsley’s top player as much as she does her teachers to which she succeeded and prevented her from scoring for a 0-0 draw! For the first time we found ourselves in a FINAL against the dreaded Frances Barnsley… A time for year 8 Aleiyah to shine, volunteering in goal, she made some very important saves and kept the girls in it until 1 minute from time. The final score, 1-0 to Frances Barnsely but a truly OUTSTANDING performance by the team with smiles and medals gained by all…
