On Thursday 16th November around 30 year 7 Scholars visited Plaistow Library to see the author Catherine Johnson. She was amazing! She talked about her new book ‘Blade and Bone’ and about the character Ezra that appears in many of her other books such as ‘Sawbone’. She also told us about her many other books that are suitable for different ages and have different genres. Our conversations as a group varied from talking about how she failed every history and writing essay as a child, to how she started her career as a history writer both fiction and non-fiction. She told us “it’s not about the fame, it’s about doing what you enjoy”. At the end of our visit everyone asked her questions about her career as a writer and we all got a chance to buy her ‘Blade and Bone’. She even signed it for each of us saying “happy reading”.
